Dear Parents,

As you may be aware there has been increasing concern regarding the spread of the Coronavirus.

Please be assured that The Ark is following the latest government advice which may be found at the following website https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19.  Posters with this information are also displayed around the nursery.

Good hygiene is always important to us and we always encourage staff and children to follow the procedure below:

  • Regularly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing – ideally with a tissue – and wash your hands afterwards to prevent the virus spreading;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth – if your hands touch a surface contaminated by the virus, this could transfer it into your body;

We are also taking extra measures to deep clean the nursery and regularly throughout the day spray all communal areas and door handles with anti-bacterial spray.  Hand sanitiser is available in every room and in main reception.

There is no reason at this stage why children should not attend The Ark as normal unless your family has been affected by the advice regarding travel to countries which have been affected by the outbreak. This is a changing picture. We will continue to monitor government advice and will communicate again if the advice or the situation should change.

With kind regards,

Donna Hubbard
